SNAMI - Sezione Provinciale di Bologna

The SNAMI Bologna website serves as the official platform for the local branch of Italy’s Sindacato Nazionale Autonomo Medici Italiani. It provides union services, member resources, sector-specific updates, legal advice, and video content for medical professionals.
Despite rich content and strong purpose, the website suffered from:
Outdated UI and lack of visual hierarchy, resulting in poor first impressions.
Cluttered layouts with dense text and limited whitespace, reducing readability.
Limited mobile responsiveness, impacting accessibility across devices.
Unstructured navigation, making it hard to locate services, documents, or sector info.
Fragmented private/member features, leading to confusion and administrative burden.
The client needed a full redesign while preserving the site’s content architecture and union branding.

The Client’s Requirements
The SNAMI Bologna board was clear:
“We want a clean, accessible, and modern website that highlights our union's services, engages both members and non-members, and works seamlessly on mobile devices.”
Their key requirements were:
Retain most of the current structure but revamp all visuals.
Improve member management and private content access.
Enhance readability and navigation.
Present their blog, services, and sectors in a way that builds trust.
Use a platform they could manage internally — Wix Studio was their preferred choice.

Our Solution
We executed a full UX and UI overhaul, migrating the website to Wix Studio, with the following approach:
Public-Facing Pages
Homepage
Emphasized SNAMI’s mission, added bold CTAs for joining the union, and included key quick links (e.g., Services, Blog, Videoteca).
Blog
Transformed the news area with a card-style layout, category filters, and improved readability. Important for spreading union positions and updates.
Services
Designed modular service tiles for legal, fiscal, insurance, and general consulting, with icons and “Approfondisci” (learn more) buttons.
Videoteca (Video Library)
Created a categorized, searchable video section with thumbnail previews. Some videos are gated for members.
Sectors of Activity
Used icon-based tiles to represent different medical sectors (e.g., Assistenza Primaria, Emergenza Territoriale), improving scannability and visual interest.
Contact Page
Simplified form with embedded Google Maps and updated contact info.
Private/Member Pages
Document Sharing
Integrated a secure WIX-based repository with filters and download buttons.
Membership Management
Members can now update profiles, renew subscriptions, and track service usage. Forms dynamically create profiles upon approval.
Service Reservations
Custom-built booking tool within Wix’s booking system for reserving member-specific services.
Internal Blog/Forum
Introduced a moderated discussion board with categorized threads and private posts, supporting member collaboration.

Design System
Visual Identity:
Used SNAMI’s color palette (blue, white, and grey) with clean sans-serif fonts.
Icons and content blocks introduced visual structure while reinforcing credibility.
User Experience (UX):
Focused on mobile-first navigation, clear CTAs, and linear content flow.
Footer and menus were redesigned for intuitive access across all sections.
Accessibility:
Met WCAG 2.1 standards with adequate color contrast, alt text for images, and legible font sizes.
