ABOUT PROJECT
Nesslegrove Technologies Ltd is a UK-based distributor of industrial measurement and control instruments, including products from Trumeter and AvancerUK. With a large and diversified product catalog ranging from electronic counters to cable measuring machines, the client needed a way to integrate product data with Octopart, a global electronics part database and marketplace.
Scope of Work
Davydov Consulting proposed and successfully implemented the following components:
Technical Scope:
Custom Export Tool Development
Built a backend utility inside Wix admin panel (Wix Dashboard).
The tool allows site admins to generate an Excel file with live data from the Products database.
Data Field Mapping
All required and optional fields specified by Octopart were carefully mapped:

Admin Dashboard Page
Created a secure dashboard for internal use, accessible via admin login.
Includes a "Generate File" button which triggers real-time export.
Excel Export Functionality
Data is dynamically pulled from the Wix CMS (Products collection).
Generates and provides download via direct link.
Data Normalization & Validation
Added validation and formatting rules to ensure data consistency and compatibility.
Missing fields are automatically detected and flagged.
Category Filtering
Export can be run for all products or specific categories as required.
Full Testing & Compliance
The final export file was tested and validated against Octopart’s feed specifications.
Resulted in 100% successful ingestion by Octopart with no errors.
