Liam’s Softeis

Liam’s Softeis aimed to bring Berliners a modern way to rent premium soft ice cream machines with added convenience. Their goal: simplify the rental process, enable optional purchases (like toppings, cups, spoons), and eliminate friction in booking, communication, and payment — all while staying within the flexibility and constraints of the Wix platform.

The Challenge
Delivering a robust booking and sales flow within Wix’s native limitations was a unique challenge. Wix doesn’t natively support complex rental logic or bundled product flows. Furthermore, calendar control and conditional product logic (e.g., minimum two ice cream packets if selected) required careful workarounds using Wix Velo (custom code environment) and third-party integrations.

Our Solution
Built on Wix Editor + Velo
Using Wix Editor flexible design system combined with Velo (Wix’s developer platform), we customized core features like:
Dynamic calendar availability: Built using Velo and a custom Wix database to manage inventory as a pooled resource.
Multi-step booking flow: Designed a sequenced form to enforce the booking logic (machine → ice cream → add-ons → delivery).
Multilingual setup: Used Wix Multilingual to toggle between DE/EN.
Popup confirmations: Rental contract must be confirmed before checkout (implemented using lightboxes).
Custom email confirmations: Automated emails include rental contract, machine info, and booking summary (using Wix Automations + SMTP logic).
Product customization: Used repeater elements to allow product quantity choices and applied logic for mandatory minimums (e.g., 2 ice cream packets if selected).
PDF/manual integration: Downloadable PDF instructions and specs displayed on the machine details page.

Simple calendar UI shows availability for two machines as a unified rental block.
Progressive disclosure UI that simplifies optional choices without overwhelming the user.
Mobile-first design optimized for quick bookings on the go.
Visual emphasis on pick-up instructions, deposit policy, and delivery logistics to prevent misunderstandings.
